Superintendent
Sarah Nuss, a graduate of Karval School, began working for the school district as the ELA teacher for the junior high and high school in 2015. She enjoyed teaching in the secondary school and over time taught vocal music and math in addition to ELA. In July of 2019, she added the role of Superintendent to her responsibilities while continuing to teach two English classes. Mrs. Nuss is committed to providing all students with a high-quality, rigorous, and well-rounded education in keeping with the reputation Karval School has maintained for generations.
Mrs. Nuss has continued the tradition of working collaboratively with staff, students, parents and community members to provide rich learning opportunities for students and to keep the district excelling in nationally normed benchmark testing. Her vision is preparing students with critical thinking and problem solving skills while also instilling the grit and accountability that make responsible citizens. Karval School is a close-knit institution that strives to help students cultivate the interpersonal skills and compassion to create and sustain communities of their own in the future.
Having graduated from Karval, Mrs. Nuss went on to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Business and a Masters in Educational Leadership, both from Colorado State University. She ranches with her family in the Karval area and enjoys working cattle and farming with her husband Adam and parents Clinton and Cathy Clark. She hopes to teach her three daughters an appreciation for rural life and homegrown happiness. She enjoys traveling to see her siblings and large extended family and hopes to continue to learn throughout her life.
Mrs. Nuss loves to contribute to the community by serving on a variety of other boards and committees in the county and state. She hopes to provide engaged leadership for staff and faculty and open collaboration with parents and community.
